The new W Barcelona lounge
W Barcelona has recently undertaken the redesign of the lobby, by renovating the foyer, the “W lounge” bar area and the Wave restaurant. The hotel management, committed to its strategy of being a reference point for the city for its international clients, sought our technical advice for the supply of leather and synthetics.
The interior design of the renovated areas has been provided by the London based studio United, led by Keith Hobbs, and under the direction of Stephen Crawley, authors of the interior design. The architectural project has been signed by Ricardo Bofill.
In the atrium and the bar area it was decided to put some straight-lined and sober couches in our black leather SITGES. Some modular and corner sofas were placed in the lounge area, covered in different textures and colours, duly specified on render, with an aesthetic purpose but also attentively to an intense use and an easy clean maintenance.
The space is designed around two unique pieces: the chaise longue “Daybed” made in a black lacquered structure and seats covered with our synthetic TUNDRA in colour orquidee, backrest in velvet, and a spectacular curved modular couch 18 metres long, draped in SOTEGA STARS pearl. A stainless steel base makes it look like it is floating and it includes connections to the electricity and data supply which allow clients to remain on line and to charge their phone and laptops in a comfortable way.
The zoning of the W lounge was completed with the Vip Booths area, by cabins with glossy black lacquered wood structure, upholstered seats, backs and cushions combining different velvet textures with our full leather quality RIALTO in colour black.
The new Wave restaurant was zoned by the installation of translucent net curtains on curved guides along the entire length of the couches placed in the bar area, to give privacy to diners. Used for the layout, octagonal sofas were draped in our synthetic PALMA in its blue range: atoll and royal.
The atmosphere is completed with the installation of white wooden ribs as a backdrop and a dividing black curtain made with NEPTUN CALERI, a material of the highest levels of resistance because of its next-generation nanotechnology development.
In other spaces of the hotel there are to find upholstered furniture with our qualities BAM FR in colour beige or SOTEGA FLS in colour hellbeige; neutral colours that match with a slow-work professional atmosphere.
ECLIPSE, the bar at the W Hotel in Barcelona is located in the 26th floor, has been designed by Bowler James Brindley studio in London, as an exclusive space. Our article TOBI FR in colour black (stingray design with transparent effect) and our comfy-nappa NOUSTAR FR in colour black have been used in its decoration.
Parallel to the glass wall overlooking the sea, there is a serpentine made with the quality DELFOS MET 1004 Pearl as an endless sofa. It is accompanied by upholstered armchairs in CALPE Rauchblau and SAVANA Orchidee qualities that serve as a contrast to the whole set.
In the VIP area, where the DJ booth is located, there is a big sofa draped in NOUSTAR FR negro.
